Veteran Educator Claudia Navarro Joins Timpanogos as New ELD Teacher

Timpanogos High School is thrilled to welcome Claudia Navarro as our new English Language Development (ELD) teacher. With a distinguished career focused on supporting diverse learners—particularly English Language Learners—Claudia brings a wealth of experience, passion, and advocacy to the T-Wolf community.

Claudia has taught a wide range of subjects and grade levels throughout her career, always implementing CRISS strategies and differentiated instruction to create inclusive, student-centered classrooms. Before joining THS, she served as the ESOL Department Chairperson, Compliance Liaison, and Coordinator at Coral Gables Senior High, where she led major efforts in language acquisition, testing coordination, and compliance.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Claudia holds multiple professional endorsements, including ESOL, Reading, Gifted Education, and World Languages. She is an active member of Kappa Delta Pi and the American Federation of Teachers and has represented educators and English Language Learners on the national stage through initiatives such as Colorín Colorado and the NABE Conference. Her dedication has earned her two nominations for Teacher of the Year.

“I’m excited to bring my experience and energy to Timpanogos High,” she said. “My mission is to build a language-rich, welcoming classroom where every student feels empowered and valued.”

Principal Murphy added, “Claudia’s commitment to equity and excellence will have a powerful impact on our school. We’re so fortunate to have her on our team.”
